FAQs

What is soy wax?

Soy wax is a 100% natural wax derived from the vegetable soybeans. It is made from environmentally friendly, renewable resources but not only are there 'green' advantages to choosing soy wax over a different type of candle wax, but it also burns slower than other waxes, meaning you get a candle that lasts longer. While all candles emit some black soot while burning, candles made from soy wax burns cleaner and results in less soot. Soy wax is also an excellent fragrance carrier that does not require chemical amplifiers.

How long will my candle burn for?

The timings can differ depending on where you're burning your candle as if there are windows open or draughts, the flame may flicker which may reduce burn time. However, the 30cl glasses should approximately burn for 40 hours and the 25cl rose gold tins for 35+ hours.

How can I maximise the burn time of my candle?

Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.  Remember to always trim the wick to 5mm before lighting to avoid smoking and damage to the glass and stop burning when 1cm of wax remains.

When will my order arrive?

I will aim to dispatch all orders within 3 business days (Monday to Friday). However, during busy periods, there may be a slight delay so I apologise for the inconvenience if this happens.

What happens if my candle is damaged?

This may happen during shipping. If this is the case, then please contact featherandglow@gmail.com with your name, order number and a photo of the damaged item and I will then send a replacement candle out to you or refund you cost of the candle.

What will my candle look like?

None of the candles have dye in them so they will have a creamy white appearance. All of our candles are handmade so no two will look the same;  some of them may have air bubbles on top and some of the soy wax may have detached from the glass - don't worry though as this is completely normal and it will not effect the burning of the candle or the scent throw.
